European Eclipse Conference – October 23 in Ludwigsburg, Germany

From October 23 to 25, 2012 the Eclipse Foundation will hold the 6th edition of the annual European Eclipse Conference.

EclipseCon Europe is all about community – learning, exploring, sharing and collaborating on the latest ideas and information about Eclipse. Contributors, adopters, extenders, service providers, consumer, business and research organizations alike, gather to share their expertise and learn from each other.

Networking activities lead to synergies in the community, from giving and receiving help on specific technical issues to generating new business opportunities. Sponsors of Eclipse Summit are an integral part of the entire event, participating in an exchange from all areas of their organizations from technical to management.

Last year we celebrated Eclipse’s 10th anniversary together with more than 550 attendees at EclipseCon Europe. This year the conference theme is open innovation: how enterprises, researchers and other organizations use Eclipse to develop innovative products and solutions.

We are also co-hosting the European OSGi community event and are extending a special welcome to the International OSGi community. And, again we are proud to have a solid technical program, but we won’t just be networking and listening to technical talks. Let us surprise you with our evening program! Details will be published in the early part of October.

For more information, please visit the conference website http://www.eclipsecon.org.

Next Session – 27.10.2011 – Eclipse Deep Dive

We would like to invite you to our next event on Thu, October 27 2011, 19:00 to 21:30 at KUL Leuven (see below). As usual, the session is in English and the entry is free.

This is the second event in cooperation with the BeJUG. It is planned since last year and was originally supposed to be the first “real” conjoint JUG session.

The event location is in Leuven, so it would be nice to organise some car sharing if possible. Please send us a mail in case you are looking for a place or if you have free seats to offer. We will play Tetris then.

Please note that this will be the last (regular) event for this season that will be organised outside of Brussels.

What’s the session about?

This time we will have a high-level Eclipse team as guest, provided and directly coming from the Eclipse Foundation. Ralph Mueller, Eclipse Ecosystem Europe Director, joins us together with two colleagues, Wayne Beaton and Tom Schindl, to allow us a deep dive into the Eclipse Foundation eco system.

Of course, this is not the time to speak about the Eclipse IDE – Having experts at our disposal, we have more challenging and sophisticated topics on the list:
UPDATED TOPICS:

  • Ralph Mueller – Welcome
  • Wayne Beaton – Getting Involved with Eclipse
  • Wayne Beaton – Orion: Tools for the web, on the web
  • Tom Schindl – e4
  • Sven Efftinge – Domain-Specific Languages with Eclipse Xtext
  • B. Muskalla – Pimp your productivity with Git, Gerrit, Hudson and Mylyn

The registration to this promising session is yet open and we recommend too not waiting to long with reserving. Places are limited and we have two JUG populations to feed :)

Hope to see you there!

The Brussels JUG is sponsored by ISABEL SA. The travel and accommodation costs are sponsored by the Eclipse Foundation! This event is organised in cooperation with the BeJUG.

Eclipse DemoCamp, November 30th 2010 in Antwerp

What is an Eclipse DemoCamp?

From November 1-30, the Eclipse Foundation is inviting individuals to organize and attend Eclipse DemoCamps around the world. The Eclipse DemoCamps are an opportunity to showcase all of the cool technology being built by the Eclipse community. They are also an opportunity for you to meet Eclipse enthusiasts in your city.

A DemoCamp is an informal event for a group of Eclipse enthusiasts to meet up and demo what they are doing with Eclipse. The demos can be of research projects, Eclipse open source projects, applications based on Eclipse, commercial products using Eclipse or whatever you think might be of interest to the attendees. The only stipulation is that it must be Eclipse related.

Belgium – Eclipse DemoCamp, November 30th 2010 in Antwerp

The Belgian camp is going to be a special one. The Dutch Eclipse User Group and the Belgian Eclipse User Group, in cooperation with TSI, SmartApps and the Brussels JUG, are organizing a DemoCamp full of surprises at the Cronos premises in Antwerp.
