GeeCON 2012 – Call for Papers

GeeCON (http://geecon.org) is a conference focused on Java and Java Virtual Machine based technologies, with special attention to dynamic languages like Groovy, Ruby and Javascript.

GeeCON 2012 will be held in Poznan (Poland) on 17-18th of May 2012. Our speakers list at the moment includes some interesting names: Bruce Eckel, Adam Bien, Kevlin Henney, Dierk König, Pete Muir, Simon Willnauer, Martijn Verburg, Patrycja Wegrzynowicz, Dawid Weiss.

Apart from invited talks we would like announce GeeCON 2012 call for papers. It will be open between 7th of January and will last till 12th of February 2012.

We are interested in hosting lectures related to:

  • best practices and solutions that solve real problems
  • enterprise architecture patterns
  • domain specific languages
  • cloud computing
  • languages on the JVM (Groovy, JRuby, Scala, Clojure, JavaScript, …)
  • mobile computing (Android, Java ME)
  • JVM performance tuning
  • software quality (refactoring, static code analysis, automated tests,
  • mutational test verification
  • software configuration management
  • agile methodologies
  • rich internet applications (HTML5, Flex, JavaFX)

GeeCON 2011 – Call for Papers

The next edition of the GeeCON Java Conference will take place the 11th to 13th May 2011 in Krakow, Poland. The Call for Papers starts 1st December 2010 and ends 15th January 2011.

GeeCON is a conference that will focus on Java and Java Virtual Machine based technologies, with special attention to dynamic languages like Groovy and Ruby. GeeCON is for everyone! Interested in new things from the world of Java and related universes – even better! The conference is aimed at software developers and architects, IT experts, students and personalities from the world of science.

It’s expected that in 2010, GeeCON might attract over 500 attendees from Germany, Czech, Poland and other countries. GeeCON is all about community, it’s organised for the community and by the community. First edition proved that the conference is more than just a great opportunity to meet for Eastern European developers.

The event is organised by representatives of Polish Java community (including Polish Java User Group and Poznan Java User Group). Some of the announced speakers: Ed Burns, Holly Cummins, Matthias Wessendorf, Peter Lubbers.
